Blackboard Message System
This page is designed to help Students, Staff and Instructors familiarize themselves with the operation of the BB messaging system.

1. Access the message system
- Log into BB and navigate to your course
- Click on Communications in the Left side Navigation area
- Click on Messages
2. Send a message
- Access the message system in your BB course
- Click the New Message button
- Click the To button
- Select each person to send the message to and click the Add recipient arrow
- Click submit
- Add additional recipients using the CC or BCC buttons if desired
- Add the subject line
- Place the message in the Body Area
- Click Submit
3. Attach a file to a message
- Access the message system in your BB course
- Click the New Message button
- Click the To button
- Select recipient(s)
- Click submit
- Add the subject line
- Place the message in the Body Area
- Click Browse and select the file to attach
- Click Open
- Click Submit
4. Add folder to message system
- Access the message system in your BB course
- Click Add Folder button
- Name the folder
- Click submit
5. Check Messages Inbox
- Access the message system in your BB course
- Click Inbox
- To view a message click on it link
6. Reply to a message
- Access the message system in your BB course
- Click Inbox
- To view a message click on it link
- Click Reply button
- Change subject if desired
- Add message in Body area
- Click submit
