  • Do you have time to go to class at least two days a week?
  • Can you arrange classes around your work schedule?
  • Will childcare or transportation costs be a hardship?

Central Texas College Distance Learning offers an alternative. You can take lecture classes, online classes, or a combination of both. Regardless of your situation, you will have access to all student and support services - online or on campus.

Why consider Distance Education?

According to Forbes.com, in 2021 about 53% of all postsecondary degree seekers in the U.S. took at least some online classes. Around 26% studied exclusively online. Commitments that do not allow for on-campus attendance are the most common reason for enrolling in online learning.

Student Evaluation of Classroom Course

Here's what students are saying...

This was my first online course and I was unsure of how it would be, but I feel I was able to learn more than in a classroom setting. The material was very helpful and made it very easy to learn.
This course provided clear learning outcomes, and there were specific goals for each lesson. There was a flow of instruction from the reading assignments to the labs and projects, as well as the discussions. Although this was an online course, I felt like I was part of an actual classroom.
The class was great, well organized, and extremely informative. It is structured well, balancing both online tools and in-person knowledge checks. The essay section of testing is a fantastic idea, and is a great tool to test one's comprehension of the subject matter.
It was easy to get my work done on my free time. The discussion boards allowed the students to interact with each other and see each others point of views on the topic. I loved this course and I would absolutely recommend it to others who find it easier taking online courses or like self-paced work better.
Overall taking this class online was easier than in person. The instructor was easy to reach, and her response time was fairly quick. Online teaching materials were easy to access, as well as follow.
